Systems Group Strategy is one of the core business units of IBM. ISL (IBM Software Labs) which this project belongs to is part of the IBM software product development groups whose sole purpose is to design, develop, test, release and support all the IBM software stack products. The IBM JDK is the underpinning technology for a significant portfolio of the IBM Product stack.
Roles and Responsibilities:
"
Debugging problems reported on the component technologies of the IBM JDK and
Identify the root causes using various debugging tools/technologies
Read through customer shared diagnostic data like system and java traces and correlate problem symptoms to causal patterns
Provide resolution through code changes for the reported problem if identified to be a bug in the IBM JDK code
Engage and work with various stake holder product teams within/outside IBM based on the causal outside JDK code areas
Communicate with IBM customers, IBM product teams, 3rd party developers and rest of IBM support organization using verbal & written business English skills"
Skills Required:
"
Thorough in programming language fundamentals (Java & C/C++)
Proven debugging skills and analytical capabilities
Good understanding of operating system concepts (ex: memory management, threading)
Experience with debuggers like gdb., dbx.
Very good Java, J2EE concepts
Proven in Networking concepts.
CORBA skills are desirable.
Proven written & oral communication skills in Business English."

Recommended to have a work experience in a product development and/or L3 service role
